Alysha Brilla • June 18 • 7:30 PM

After her amazing set was cut short by lightning last summer, we had to have Alysha Brilla back!

Alysha Brilla is a three-time JUNO Award-nominated songwriter, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who seamlessly blends global roots sounds into music that resonates deeply. As the 2024 Canadian Screen Award-nominated composer for Fawzia Mirza's celebrated film The Queen Of My Dreams, Brilla’s work has garnered acclaim for its emotional depth and cultural richness.

Growing up as the child of an Indo-Tanzanian musician, Brilla channels her heritage and the essence of global rhythms into a vibrant soundscape. Her music explores themes of reconnection with oneself, others, and the natural world through uplifting rhythms and soulful, melodic storytelling. In 2013, Brilla became a trailblazer as one of the first self-produced female artists in history to receive a JUNO Award nomination for her debut album, marking a pivotal moment in Canadian music.

Brilla’s collaborations read like a who’s who of Grammy Award-winning talent: she has performed alongside Bedouin Soundclash, provided vocals and guitar for Digging Roots, and co-written with legends like No Doubt, The Black Eyed Peas, and Justin Nozuka. Her recent single, “Love,” was mastered by three-time Grammy-winning engineer Emily Lazar, reinforcing her commitment to excellence in every facet of her craft.
