Raul Malo • July 7, 2021 • 7:30 PM • Free

One of the most popular artists to ever grace the Music on Main Street stage, Raul Malo is an incomparable, genre defying, singer songwriter with an unforgettable voice. For his first appearance in 2010, many regular Music on Main Street attendees had never heard of Raul Malo, or only knew him as the frontman from The Mavericks (who were disbanded at that time). Bill Brandenburg, the artistic director of the series made a point of telling everyone anyone who would listen that this was a not-to-be-missed experience and that he would personally refund anyone’s ticket who wasn’t blown away that night. Bill didn’t need to reach into his wallet and a legion of local fans formed. After the success of the re-formed Mavericks, Raul eliminated most of his solo appearances and has not appeared in Woodbridge since 2013. After an eight year hiatus, we are very proud to once again present Raul Malo, this time as a part of the free Woodbridge Wednesday series. If you have not experienced the voice and music of Raul Malo, and aren’t blown away, this time Bill will doubly refund your ticket price! Seriously, don’t miss this amazing talent!

Raul Malo is the incomparable frontman of genre-defying, GRAMMY Award-winning band The Mavericks, and the sole writer of many of their songs. His free-wheeling, swaggering style seamlessly blends neotraditional country, rock ’n roll, and Latin rhythmic fervor, and prominently features his lush, soaring baritone. His compositional craftsmanship includes penning progressive and timeless hits like “Here Comes the Rain,” “What A Crying Shame”, “Dance The Night Away”, “Back In Your Arms Again”, and “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down.” From his earliest days, when his raucous sound broke ground at the punk clubs on Miami Beach nearly three decades ago, to now fronting The Mavericks on their 30th Anniversary World Tour, Malo has demonstrated an unfailing skill for getting people to groove.
